ACCESS-CM2-Chem is an extension of the ACCESS-CM2 coupled climate model which adds interactive tropospheric and stratospheric chemistry using the United Kingdom Aerosol and Chemistry (UKCA) module. In this presentation we present results from the first runs of this model. We will focus on the simulation of the ozone, particularly the depletion of Antarctic stratospheric ozone, assessing whether improvements have been made relative to the previous generation of the model, as well as examining the effects of this ozone depletion on stratospheric dynamics. We will also outline plans for future model runs which will contribute to the Chemistry-Climate Model Initiative phase 2 (CCMI-2) activities.
