About AMOS 2020

The Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) is delighted to host our 27th AMOS Annual Meeting (AMOS 2020) in Fremantle, Western Australia, from 10–14 February 2020.

The AMOS Annual Meeting is Australia’s pre-eminent conference profiling the latest findings and applications of our sciences. AMOS 2020 boasts over 40 thematic sessions covering topics in meteorology, oceanography and other climate sciences under the broad themes of weather, ocean processes, atmospheric processes, climate, land surface processes, Antarctic science, climate services and community engagement. This year we are highlighting the current research in Indian oceanography and meteorology and also water.  The Fremantle and neighbouring Perth areas are adapting to a decrease in freshwater supply. This, coupled with the recent drought conditions in the southeast of the continent, means managing water is an urgent topic.

We acknowledge that we will be meeting on Nyoongar Country and pay our respects to the traditional owners of the Fremantle/Walyalup area, the Whadjuk people, past, present and emerging.
